poured argon shrouded and finally cooled.
On demand and agreed an extra charge, the
ingots can be supplied at a variable weight
(when possible), with or without hot top
, cut into piece, heat-treated (annealing). |

| Steel is made
from the melting in an Electric Arc Furnace
(E.A.F.) of high-quality selectedscrap containing
very low trace-element values. The liquid
scrap is refined in a Ladle Furnace (L.F.)
before undergoing vacuum degassing (V.D.)
and then being poured into an ingot mould
in a neutral atmosphere, at a pre-programmed,
monitored and recorded speed. The cutting-edge
technology of the meticulously maintained
plants – which carry out the process
in line with the strict procedures set out
by the Quality Guarantee System –
and the ongoing training of the personnel
combine to ensure the consistent quality
and reliability of the products. Moreover,
the continuous-improvement process enables
the company to strive towards increasingly
ambitious milestones in terms of the chemical
and physical properties of its products.
The company’s dedication to product
quality has not come, however, at the expense
of the workforce or the neighbourhood community:
since 2003, we had used an integrated Quality,
Health, Safety and Environment System through
a punctual adjustment to the Health &
Safety and Environmental norms also ensured
by a Health & Safety, Environmental,
Quality system certified in 2003. |

The types of
carbon steel and alloy steel we produce
normally belong to the groups listed below:
 |
Case-hardened |
 |
Hardened and tempered |
 |
Surface-tempered |
 |
Nitride-hardened |
 |
Tough at low temperatures
|
 |
HSLA |
 |
Creep-resistant |
We also produce types of steel with special
chemical/physical properties for use in
the manufacture of bearings, hot-working
dies, rotor shafts and turbine discs for
the energy industry (Superclean) and what
is requested as per the customer’s
specification. |
