On January 20, 1971, Dr. Aldo Artioli established A.S.O. Acciai Speciali Ospitaletto s.a.s. (A.S.O. Special Steel), which went on to become A.S.O. Siderurgica s.r.l..

Less than one year later (February 13, 1972), the first cast was produced using a 10-tons furnace.

Initially, we supplied ingots to companies of different sectors, though the decision was soon taken to specialise exclusively in production for forges – the most suited area to our steel mill and to our experience.

In 1976, a 30-tons furnace was installed. Our air-cast ingots were soon in great demand thanks to the refinement of the production process.

To increase our competitiveness, in 1991 a cutting-edge vacuum-degassing plant was installed within our ladle furnace; it was soon highly functional and effective.
